Osmo Natural Oil Woodstain Effect

Osmo Natural Oil Woodstain Effects are a range of woodstains in three attractive silver-metallic tones, designed to complememnt the full range of Osmo Natural Oil Woodstains, satin-matt oil-based protective finish suitable for exterior wood. Microporous, breathable finish allowing the wood to breath and reduces the risk of swelling and shrinkage. Water-repellent, extremely weather and UV resistant. The finish contains active ingredients which protect it from mould, algae and fungal attack. The finish is proven over decades in all kinds of climatic conditions, and does not crack, flake, peel or blister.

Coverage:

1 litre will cover approx 26m² on smooth timber and approx 12m² on rough sawn wood. The coverage on absorbant timbers can be significantly improved by coating with 4001 WR Base Coat first. Please note that grooved decking will require approximately 30% more than smooth decking.

Suitable Applications:

All exterior woods (dimensionally stable and non dimensionally stable): doors, windows and windowsill, carports, timber cladding, balcony, wooden decking, screens & fences, pergolas, garden houses and furniture. Please note that with decking or areas subject to high wear only a single coat should be applied and then the product must be overcoated with Osmo anti slip decking oil 430.

On vertical surfaces the life of the product can be greatly extended by applying a top coat of Osmo UV Protection Oil 420 Extra or Osmo 410 UV Protection Oil when the woodstain is completely dry.

Please note:
Osmo Natural Oil Woodstain Effect contains biocides and is therefore only suitable for exterior use.
For maximum protection two coats should always be applied
To extend the life of the finish on vertical surfaces Osmo recommend applying a final top coat of Osmo UV Protection Oil Extra 420 or Osmo 410 UV Protection Oil (without biocide).
Many wood species contain water soluble tannins which may leach out naturally when weathered

In addition the colour will vary with the wood depending on age, pre-treatment etc and therefore it is always advisable to test on a small inconspicuous area first.
