Coverage:

Coverage approx  24m² per litre

Number of coats: 2 coats  required on raw wood

Application:

Apply thinly and evenly to the clean and dry wood along the wood grain with a suitable brush, Osmo Microfibre Roller or Osmo Floor Brush 150 mm, and spread well within 10-15 minutes. Wipe away any excess product and allow to dry for approx. 4-5 hours with good ventilation. After drying, apply a second coat also thinly and quickly.

When renovating or recoating an already oiled surface, one coat applied to the clean and dry surface is usually sufficient.

It is generally recommended to apply just one coat of the 3240 followed by a clear coat however if a more intensive coloured finish is required a second coat can be applied but please be aware that the surface will be more difficult to maintain and keep at its best. If a more intensive white finish is required we recommend using Osmo Wood Wax finish for the first coat.

Maintenance:

Surfaces treated with Osmo Polyx Oil Rapid are easy to maintain and keep clean. For regular cleaning either use the Osmo spray Mop or damp mop using Osmo Wash and Care. For stubborn stains or to refresh high wear areas that have gone dull use Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner.

Hints and tips:

Do not use with exotic timbers with a high oil content

Make sure the area is well ventilated otherwise drying times can become extended

When applying a clear coat over the top of a coloured coat always allow to dry for 24 hours

Use Osmo Wood Protector 4006 base coat first when using in bathrooms or kitchens.

  • Can I use washing up liquid to clean surfaces treated with Osmo Polyx Oil, Top Oil or Wood Wax?

No, washing up liquid will strip off and damage Osmo Polyx oil and Osmo Top Oil - We recommend using Osmo Wash and Care, The Osmo Spray cleaner or Osmo Interior Spray Cleaner which not only clean but also help to maintain the finish.
